Breeder & Exhibitor of Mini Rex, Mini Lop & Tan Rabbits
About me
My name is Andria and I have been breeding the Mini Rex & Mini Lop Rabbit breeds for almost 2 and a half years and my Tans for only 12 months now. I have bred other breeds and kept rabbits for numerous years my first ever rabbit being called Bubbles when I was a young child and still have very fond memories. I fell in love with the Mini Rex not just because of their velvety coats but they have wonderful personalities, are great as family pets (which is good as my 5 year old son George loves them just as much as me) and are full of life. Since sadly being diagnosed with fibromyalgia it means I spend most days riddled with pain and house bound but I find keeping my rabbits and especially a good cuddle from them lightens my days.
Although my main exhibiting breeds are Mini Rex & Tan, I have also been building up a stud of Mini Lops for my son for him to show. After just recently very sadly loosing my old Mini Lop, Billy Boy I got Harry & Buddaball as pet bunnies for George to love and show in the pet class. We always look to the sky at night to see Billy's star and this little man will always be the best bunny I will ever have.
I live in the South of England in the Kentish town of Folkestone which is near the white cliffs of Dover, hence the name.
The colours in Mini Rex that I am concentrating on are my Marten Seal/Sable, Siamese Seal/Sable and Mini ChinRex and my ambition is to breed to the BRC standards so that I have show standard rabbits to exhibit. All of my rabbits are well looked after and are allowed access to runs in the garden when the weather permits. They also take it in turns to come in for exercise and a much needed cuddle most evenings.
I breed my rabbits purely to enhance my stock for exhibiting and occasionally I do have surplus stock for sale. I like to keep in contact with the families that home my surplus stock and I sometimes post photos that they forward to me. All money raised goes instantly back into the care and up-bring of my rabbits. Like any good stud no profit is ever made. All of my rabbits eat a very healthy diet and are treated regularly to a huge variety of fresh fruit and vegetables.
I am a member of various clubs including the NOFRRA (National Orange & Fawn Rex Rabbit Association), The UK Rex Club, The National ChinRex Club, The Seal & Sable Rex Club, The National Tan Club and The British Mini Rex Club.
I will endeavour to keep all information up to date.
